Brain Injury
Awareness Walk

History

The walk started in 2012, and happened every year until the pandemic paused it in 2019.

We’re very proud to share that in the history of the walk, close to $100,000 was raised! The pandemic interrupted it, but it’s returning!

Why we Walk

Brain injuries in Canada, and everywhere else in the world, are VERY common. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) occurs at an annual rate of 500 out of 100,000 individuals. That is approximately 165,000 in Canada. This equals 456 people every day, or one person injured every 3 minutes in Canada. (Source)

The walk is to celebrate movement, in that there’s a start but people will walk until they’re too tired to continue.

The recipient of the funds is growing!

The funds will be shared between the following organizations:

The recipients of the funds raised operate residences, for individuals who aren’t able to (safely) live on their own.

With your help their lives will be awesome, as they should be!
